Welcome to the first official post on the Gangly Sister Productions blog.
Even though we didn’t officially launch until today, we’ve had some raised eyebrows (can you raise an eyebrow on a tweet?) about the fact that our two lead creatives, Ofer Rubin and Michael G. Church are clearly not girls.
To be perfectly honest, I feel quite bad about it. Why was it that when I was a girl I felt it was essential that I have a big brother, not a big sister? That’s how I adopted Michael. It’s not his fault that he’s the best writer I know and his jokes are funnier than mine. I’m a little peeved about that, but it works to my advantage on the scriptwriting part.
I feel even worse about Ofer, who came to me through some sort of miracle. When I met him, my knowledge of animation was so paltry that I literally paid him to just talk for 2 hours about it. I can’t explain this, but at some point during those 2 hours, it came out that he’d developed some kind of 3D animation cheat that would make it much less expensive and time-consuming to produce. Well, that’s what he said. Given what we’ve put into this venture so far, I’m not sure there’s anything less expensive about it, but I love Purple and Nine too much to complain. <<< that doesn’t count as a complaint.
So there you have it. Lame excuses for why I don’t have an all-woman staff. We have some wigs. Let us know in the comments below if you think we could fake it with some wigs and putting the letter “a” at the end of everyone’s name.
Anyway, welcome to our blog.
Every Tuesday we’ll be posting an inspirational interview with an entrepreneur or technologist, or just someone we admire who we think is a great role model for our young people.
Myself, Miriam, Michael, Ofer, and maybe even the girls themselves will be posting here from time to time.
We’ll be scheduling Google Hangouts with some amazing guest hosts who will be providing resources for boosting kids’ confidence and improving family communication.
And, of course, Purple and Nine will be launching their first episode in the next couple of months. We’ll keep you updated and well be asking for your input on some of our creative ideas.
Welcome to the community. We can’t thank you enough for joining us, and we promise a fun ride.
Oh, and we are a video company so SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube Channel.
